About CareCompass
CareCompass is designed to help carers and care-adjacent professionals find accurate information quickly when working with people who may not know formal medical or provider terminology.
In many real-world situations such as advice services, support roles, community care, safeguarding and legal assistance - people describe medicines, services, or experiences in everyday language. Names may be incomplete, misspelled, brand-based, or recalled from memory during a phone call.
CareCompass helps bridge that gap.
It provides structured search tools that make it easier to move from "what someone said" to accurate, verifiable information.
CareCompass is not a prescribing system and does not provide clinical advice. It is a reference and clarification tool to support accurate recording and informed conversations.
Provider Search
CareCompass includes a provider search designed to help users locate regulated care services and organisations quickly.
Whether someone says "the care home near the station" or recalls only part of a provider's name, the search is designed to help narrow down the correct organisation so details can be confirmed accurately.
The focus is simple:
Find the right provider. Confirm the details. Record accurately.
Clarify
The Clarify feature provides neutral guidance for commonly used high-impact terms.
In care environments, words such as "bullying", "racism", or "modern slavery" carry legal and safeguarding significance. They are important terms -- but they are also often used in different ways in everyday conversation.
Clarify offers short, neutral explanations and structured recording prompts to help ensure that what is written reflects specific behaviours and context, rather than labels alone.
It does not determine whether something occurred.
It supports clearer recording.
Medicine Search
The medicine search is designed to help users identify medicines based on how they are described in conversation.
People may refer to a brand name instead of a generic name, mispronounce a medicine, or remember only part of it. CareCompass supports fuzzy and synonym matching so that terms like brand and generic equivalents can be surfaced together.
The aim is simple:
Move from uncertain description to the correct medicine name so that information can be confirmed clearly.
The medicine data is based on recognised UK reference terminology and is intended for search and identification purposes only.
Medical Device Search (we can refine the name)
Many people refer to medical devices using everyday descriptions rather than formal names.
The device search is designed to help identify regulated medical devices and related products from partial or informal descriptions, enabling users to confirm correct terminology before recording or onward referral.
Like the medicine search, this is a reference tool, not a clinical assessment system.
